London Day Out

John & kids in Trafalgar Square

Me & the kids waiting for the next train. We had gotten on the wrong train and ended up completely wrong after this picture. Probably because John kept distracting me with his photo taking!!

Us on the Central Line on the way to the Aquarium, hungry & hot!!

We had a very eventful Sunday in London. We didn't set off early enough so didn't get into the center until 12:15 and we were all starving!! We had pre-booked tickets for the aquarium so we wanted to go there first and get it out of the way and then go for a nice lunch somewhere. After a wrong train we finally got to Westminster!

It took all my powers of persuasion to make John pass up various stalls and places to eat! He can never wait!! After the McDonald's snack and the 2 hour aquarium walk we were really hungry.

We went to Wahaca for lunch which is really good Mexican food (I know what you're thinking, but I promise it was really good, even if it is England). Cerys was easy as we just ordered her a taquito and a huge bowl of guacamole. She practically licked the bowl! Jack had a PLAIN cheese quesadilla and John and I ordered everything as we don't often get good Mexican!

We then headed over to the British Museum as Jack has been going on and on about Egypt lately so we thought we would show him some real mummies. He loved it and Cerys kept asking what the people were doing laying down inside the glass! Poor thing, I just kept saying they were sleeping, but she looked at me kind of strange when she looked back at the unwrapped mummy that was dark brown with it's eyes sewn shut!
History lesson over we were wiped out and made our way back on the train back to our car and were pleasantly surprised with out £3 parking bill! We slept really well that night and even though London has cleaned up a bit we were still black from head to toe and yes, for those of you who have witnessed this, our nostrils too. Baths and off to bed for us!!

4th of July BBQ

We had a lovely BBQ for the 4th but sadly, we forgot to take pictures! We (not John!) were all donning the red, white & blue and listening to patriotic songs on you tube. Jack and Cerys learned the Pledge and their favourite song was Yankee Doodle Boy. Jack has been singing it all week!

A Day At The Farm

We had a lovely day at the farm. Cerys fed the chicks some water with the watering can, sprinkled corn for the big chickens & roosters, and petted some pigs and donkeys. Jack liked the tractors and the bull. Poor Cerys got butted by a toddler goat in the chest and she was a bit teary after that. She didn't get hurt too badly, just scared. Notice the sky in the pictures! The clouds were looming over us and it started to pour as soon as we were unlocking our front door! Lucky!

A Walk in the Woods

John took the kids out for a lovely walk in the countryside/forest on Sunday. I was working, of course, so I missed out! It looks really fun. I have 5 days off now - maybe we will have to go back and pay another visit. It has been so beautiful outside-not a cloud in the sky! Not for long though - this is England after all.
