London Day Out

John & kids in Trafalgar Square

John & kids near London Eye

Me on the bridge
(didn't notice the ninja at time of photograph!)

Me & the kids waiting for the next train. We had gotten on the wrong train and ended up completely wrong after this picture. Probably because John kept distracting me with his photo taking!!

Us on the Central Line on the way to the Aquarium, hungry & hot!!

We had a very eventful Sunday in London. We didn't set off early enough so didn't get into the center until 12:15 and we were all starving!! We had pre-booked tickets for the aquarium so we wanted to go there first and get it out of the way and then go for a nice lunch somewhere. After a wrong train we finally got to Westminster!

It took all my powers of persuasion to make John pass up various stalls and places to eat! He can never wait!! After the McDonald's snack and the 2 hour aquarium walk we were really hungry.

We went to Wahaca for lunch which is really good Mexican food (I know what you're thinking, but I promise it was really good, even if it is England). Cerys was easy as we just ordered her a taquito and a huge bowl of guacamole. She practically licked the bowl! Jack had a PLAIN cheese quesadilla and John and I ordered everything as we don't often get good Mexican!

We then headed over to the British Museum as Jack has been going on and on about Egypt lately so we thought we would show him some real mummies. He loved it and Cerys kept asking what the people were doing laying down inside the glass! Poor thing, I just kept saying they were sleeping, but she looked at me kind of strange when she looked back at the unwrapped mummy that was dark brown with it's eyes sewn shut!
History lesson over we were wiped out and made our way back on the train back to our car and were pleasantly surprised with out £3 parking bill! We slept really well that night and even though London has cleaned up a bit we were still black from head to toe and yes, for those of you who have witnessed this, our nostrils too. Baths and off to bed for us!!

ahh, sounds really fun, Grandma misses London, if I still lived there you could have gone to my flat for a rest and then a hike on the Heath! I'm surprised you didn't go for GBK, I can taste those burgers now! But I do understand about the Mexican bit:0) Cerys looks cute in her "Easter" dress and Jack as always with goofy smiles!

Okay, we are definitely going to London. That Wahaca place sounds cool. Finn would get along just fine with Cerys because they could both share a huge bowl of guacamole! And what good is London without the black nostrils? Come on..it wouldn't be London.
